About Dr. Ravitskiy
Larisa Ravitskiy, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon with a distinguished career in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology.
Dr. Ravitskiy earned her medical degree from NYU School of Medicine, where she was a recipient of the American Academy of Dermatology Medical Student Fellowship and the Scholarship for Jewish Women in Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency at Cooper University Hospital, followed by concurrent Clinical Research Training Program and Advanced Clinical Dermatology Fellowship at the Mayo Medical Center. Her Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship was completed at Zitelli & Brodland, PC, renowned for excellence in skin cancer treatment and surgical reconstruction techniques, incorporating interpolated flap and other advanced techniques.
Throughout her career, Dr. Ravitskiy has served in both leadership and academic roles, including as director of the Division of Dermatologic and Mohs Surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center, where she also held a faculty appointment as clinical assistant professor. To further aid her goal of relationship-centered care, Dr. Ravitskiy founded and managed Ohio Dermatology Center, a private practice. She remained at the helm for 15 years, before stepping back from the managing duties. Her extensive research experience spans multiple institutions and has focused on surgical outcomes and skin cancer treatment, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and invited lectures at national meetings.
Dr. Ravitskiy is an active member of several professional societies, including the American College of Mohs Surgery and Ohio Dermatologic Association. She has contributed to the field through committee work with the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, Mayo Clinic, and the Ohio State Medical Association.
“I chose dermatology, and especially Mohs surgery, because it combines everything I love about medicine — histology, surgery, problem-solving, and patient relationships. I believe in treating every patient as an individual, not a diagnosis, and I’m deeply committed to doing what’s best for them. My approach blends the best evidence-based medicine with the wisdom that comes from years of experience, always guided by a simple principle: make even the most challenging experiences positive for my patients. I’m grateful for the opportunity to do this work, especially here at Sunrise Dermatology, where the warmth and openness of the community align perfectly with my belief in clear communication, collaboration, and truly personalized care. This practice is not just about surgery; it’s about compassion, precision, and a commitment to helping each patient feel confident, understood, and well-cared for.”
